Northeast College of Health Sciences Remembers Board Member With New Scholarship
Northeast College of Health Sciences is honored to establish a new scholarship in memory of Mr. John Palmucci, longtime member of the College’s Board of Trustees.
The John Palmucci Scholarship is a new annual scholarship to be awarded each year to one outstanding student enrolled in one of the College’s academic programs in the health sciences. Eligible candidates must hail from Mr. Palmucci’s home state of Maryland and have demonstrated exceptional leadership and community service during their previous high school or undergraduate studies.
Throughout his career, Mr. Palmucci was dedicated to the not-for-profit sector, serving as vice president for finance at institutions such as Merrimack College, Valparaiso University and Loyola University Maryland. He joined Northeast College’s Board in 2011 and held a number of leadership roles, including Board vice-chair and chairperson of the Strategic Planning and Finance/Investment committees.
Mr. Tim Brown, Mr. Palmucci’s close colleague and vice chair of Northeast’s Board of Trustees, said about Mr. Palmucci, “John was a person who truly valued wisdom, understanding and gratitude. His is a great legacy of kindness and belief in the power of supporting and giving back to others.”
"John was both an outstanding professional and person," agreed Northeast College President Dr. Michael Mestan. "He was generous with his extensive knowledge, and I am grateful our College is able to honor that love of learning and leadership through this new scholarship.”
