SENECA FALLS, N.Y. – The Northeast College of Health Sciences community is deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Veronica Mittak, associate professor and beloved member of our academic family.

Dr. Mittak dedicated over three decades to Northeast College, joining our community in 1994 and serving as a full-time faculty member since 2009. Throughout her distinguished career, she touched countless lives through her unwavering commitment to health education and public health advocacy.

A Legacy of Excellence in Education.

Known for her interdisciplinary expertise and vibrant teaching style, Dr. Mittak taught a diverse array of courses including Clinical Microbiology, Public Health and Wellness, Cell and Tissue Anatomy, Laboratory Diagnosis, Abnormal Psychology, and Forensic Science. Her genuine care for students and innovative approach to education made her an inspiring presence both in the classroom and throughout campus.

"I truly enjoy sharing my experiences with others and hope that what I teach goes to strengthen and illuminate just how important and large a role public health plays in our personal and professional lives," Dr. Mittak once shared, perfectly capturing her passion for education and her students' success.

Dr. Mittak brought impressive academic credentials to her role, holding a Doctor of Health Education and a Master of Public Health from A.T. Still University, a Master of Science in forensic psychology from Walden University, and a certification as a health education specialist. Her life's work exemplified a deep commitment to advancing health education and making meaningful contributions to both academic and public health communities.

Remembering Dr. Mittak.

Dr. Mittak's impact extended far beyond the classroom. As a dedicated mentor, she guided generations of students and colleagues, leaving an indelible mark on the Northeast College community. Her absence will be profoundly felt across our campus and by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
