2021 SACA Chapter of the Year trophy

Northeast College of Health Science's Student American Chiropractic Association (SACA) chapter was named the 2021 SACA Chapter of the Year. The announcement was made during this year's American Chiropractic Association (ACA) Engage 2022 annual conference, Feb. 3-5.

"It is truly surreal to have been chosen as SACA's Chapter of the Year. The pandemic has brought many unforeseen challenges; however, the spirit of Northeast persevered and this award recognizes that," said Tori Uglialoro (D.C. '22), Northeast SACA chapter president.

Each year the award is presented to the SACA chapter that best demonstrates extraordinary teamwork, collaboration and the commitment to further the mission, vision and values of the ACA. Northeast SACA was noted as a "positive, visible force on both the national and campus levels."

"The award was well deserved," said Bill Lauretti, D.C., professor of Principles of Healthcare Practice at Northeast and the College's SACA faculty advisor. "We have a tradition of great student leadership here at Northeast College."

That tradition continued with the election of current Northeast students Katy Kennedy (D.C. '22) as incoming SACA national chair and Northeast SACA President Tori Uglialoro (D.C. '22) as new SACA national vice chair. It's a proud note for the College that six of the last ten SACA national chairs have been Northeast students. Immediate past chair Ary Laudeman (D.C. '21) was also recognized at the Engage 2022 annual conference for her service and work as a SACA leader.

Uglialoro noted, "We want to thank all of our current members and advisor, Dr. Lauretti, for their support and involvement. By being a part of SACA, students shape the future of our profession to benefit and support both practitioner and patient. We cannot wait to see what the next year will bring and we hope that more students will become part of the SACA family."

Northeast Alumni News out of Engage 2022:
