Alumni Circles Strengthen the Bonds of the #NortheastBlue Community
The connections formed at Northeast College of Health Sciences extend far beyond graduation.
For Ashley Williams (D.C. ’20), staying connected to her alma mater and fellow graduates, continues to be a meaningful part of her chiropractic journey and a reminder of the foundation that shaped her success.
Reinforcing those lasting bonds, Alumni Circles provides a monthly online forum for Northeast chiropractors to connect through conversation, professional development and peer support.
Williams looks forward to these monthly conversations as an opportunity for genuine connection, meaningful discussion and shared experiences with fellow chiropractors. For her, Alumni Circles offers something beyond traditional continuing education by creating a space for authentic dialogue, reflection and support within the chiropractic community.
New Event Connects Alumni With Future Graduates
An offshoot of Compassion Circles, the student support program launched in 2020 in response to the challenges and isolation of the pandemic, the alumni initiative keeps the community connected through ongoing virtual gatherings as members leave campus and enter practice.
"As members of Compassion Circles graduated, we began inviting alumni back to share their experiences after Northeast," said Heather Frederick, M.S., LMHC, director of counseling services at Northeast. "What we noticed was that many of those graduates would stay on the call after the formal discussion ended, continuing conversations and sharing insights with one another. That's when the idea began to take shape."
New Event Connects Alumni With Future Graduates
Alumni Circles is expanding its reach with the first-ever Alumni Night, an online event set for July 16, 2026.
The forum will bring alumni and students preparing to enter the profession together, giving students the opportunity to ask questions about the transition from student to practitioner and gain firsthand insight into launching a chiropractic career.
Dr. Ashley Williams will be there. A graduate of the College when it was New York Chiropractic College, she plans to participate in the inaugural Alumni Night to share her experiences as a chiropractor and practice owner.
Williams hopes to help students envision a career that reflects both their professional goals and personal values. “I hope to help students see a real future for themselves in their career of choice in a way that lets them stay true to who they are as individuals,” she said.
Strengthening the #NortheastBlue Network Through Alumni Circles
Alumni Circles reflects the strength of the #NortheastBlue community, a network built on shared experiences, lifelong relationships and a commitment to supporting one another.
The first Alumni Circles meeting was held in February 2026 and is led by doctor of chiropractic alumni and shaped by the needs and interests of its members. Sessions are driven by conversation and connection, with participants helping select topics most relevant to their professional lives and career goals.
"My hope is that this group will continue for a very long time," Frederick said. "Health care providers need mutual support and connection is a big part of stress management and self-care. Alumni Circles gives our graduates a place to learn from one another, share experiences and stay connected to the Northeast community."
