Jean-Nicolas Poirier, D.C., Ed.D., Dean of the School of Health Sciences and Education and Director of Academic Services, and Beth Donohue, M.S., D.C., Director of Accreditation at New York Chiropractic College, serve as Councilors for the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE).

Dr. Donohue, first elected to the Council in 2012, is in the first year of her third three-year term on the Council. Dr. Donohue has served as a member of the CCE Site Team Academy since 1995 and most recently served as a member of the Council Development Committee. "I've always wanted to make an impact on the profession by improving chiropractic education from the inside," said Donohue. "This is an essential part of improving the quality of care we provide to our patients, as a profession."

Dr. Nic Poirier, now in the second year of his second three-year term, was just elected as Associate Chair of the CCE's Executive Committee. This leadership position supports the Council Chair and steps into that leadership role when conflicts of interest periodically prevent the chair from performing his/her functions. Of this new responsibility, Dr. Poirier said that he is "delighted to be able to perform this work in service of the chiropractic profession." He explained that serving on the CCE Council is "a wonderful opportunity, as a group of peers, to help collectively improve the quality of chiropractic education throughout the country."

Since 1974, the CCE has been the federally recognized specialty accrediting agency for chiropractic education, ensuring chiropractic programs meet or exceed the approved educational standards for competency of their graduates.
